Description

Belmont Hill School seeks an enthusiastic and engaging Mandarin Chinese teacher to begin in August 2023. The position is a one-year sabbatical replacement. Candidates should have a background in instructing either Middle or High School and a passion for teaching across all grade levels of our school. A strong candidate should be able to teach all levels of Chinese, from the introductory levels through advanced electives, and supervise the events and activities related to Chinese classes. A competitive applicant will also have a genuine interest in teaching proficiency, a willingness to focus on target language exclusively in the classroom, a propensity for integrating technology and different learning platforms, and a commitment to weaving diversity, equity and inclusion into curricula. As a full-time faculty member, the candidate will teach four sections. Coaching involvement and/or the ability to advise or oversee extracurricular activities will be expected with this position. Significant teaching skills, experience in similar school environments, and an advanced degree are preferred but not required.

 

Belmont Hill School is a non-denominational school for boys in grades 7-12 situated on 29 acres in Belmont, MA, a suburb 20 minutes northwest of Boston. Primarily a day school, Belmont Hill also maintains a five-day boarding program for approximately 30 students in order to serve students from a broader geographic region.
